Job Summary:

Work Schedule: This is a casual position. Casual employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis to meet the needs of the business. Workdays/hours will often vary from week to week.
The Security Control Room Operator is responsible for monitoring security control room monitors and dispatching security officers for all Health Care facilities.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
1. Monitors CCTV system across multiple Health System facilities utilizing sophisticated software. Assists Security staff by controlling numerous and various camera types to track suspicious or inappropriate behavior. Reports observations and updates to patrol officers to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
2. Monitors all security department communications by responding to all incoming calls via Phone System, Intercom, and Digital radio to ensure rapid response is available to requesting parties. Follows proper radio etiquette by utilizing proper call signs and ensuring professional communication protocols are followed.
3. Utilizes data entry skills by typing required data into the computer software as the information comes in and categorizes call types for multiple facilities and locations across the health system. Queries callers for additional information to ensure they have all information needed to ensure proper response.
4. Dispatches Security officers utilizing computer software and digital radio or other forms of communication as appropriate. Updates officer status as they progress through tasks. Ensures officer safety by monitoring locations, destination and other involved parties
5. Immediately responds to all alarms that are enunciated in the control room. Dispatches security officers to ensure hazards are investigated. Follows scripted procedures to ensure all required persons or departments are notified. Some alarms will require the dispatcher make an overhead page to the affected facility.
6. Utilizes electronic access programs to monitor doors at restricted areas, Assigning Temporary, Contractor, vendor and volunteer ID badges. Producing photo identification cards while supporting the organization's security posture and controlled access to restricted areas policies.
7. Must be able to learn and uphold the policies and legal aspects of the job. To include HIPPA rules and regulations, Incident command, Fire Codes, Safety practices, Emergency response and various code types.

Job Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) preferred.
Experience
- 6 months security experience preferred.
- 6 months security CCTV experience preferred.
- 6 months radio dispatching experience preferred.
License/Certifications
- Successful completion of background check required.
- Attend Integrated Services New Employee Orientation required.
- Successfully complete NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses for Healthcare required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers.
