THE POSITION

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our cloud-based infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the scalability, security, and efficiency of our enterprise cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC), with a strong focus on reliability and performance.


THE GAME PLAN

  • Design and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions (AWS)
  • Design, configure, and deploy enterprise-level systems and infrastructure, including servers, databases, storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, identity & access management (IAM), and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Ensure that system designs align with business needs, security standards, and scalability requirements.
  • Perform advanced system administration tasks such as installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Automate system processes and tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to increase operational efficiency.
  • Lead cloud integration projects, including migrating on-premises systems to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and optimizing hybrid cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) plans and backup strategies for critical systems, ensuring data integrity and system availability.
  • Conduct regular DR testing and update plans as needed to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure that enterprise systems meet security standards and comply with industry regulations (e.g., SOX, ISO, PCI, GDPR).
  • Implement and maintain system security measures such as patch management, access control, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Collaborate with network, database, and application teams to ensure smooth integration and operation of systems across the enterprise.
  • Provide Tier 1 support for critical system issues and escalations, working to resolve problems quickly and minimize downtime.
  • Lead or participate in infrastructure projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and policies, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational transparency.
  • Create and manage user groups, and enforce company policies and procedures related to AWS IAM


THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, or a similar role.
  • Expertise in AWS with relevant certifications preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk) and cloud networking.
