Job Description:

BlackRock’s US Wealth Advisory business services $2T+ in client assets and is responsible for the distribution of active and index asset management products through intermediaries as well as sub advisory relationships. The US Wealth Advisory Strategic Accounts team is responsible for BlackRock’s relationship management and business development initiatives with key retail distributors including Wirehouses, Regionals, Independents, Banks, Enterprise RIAs, Custodians, TAMPs, and Wealthtech providers. The team encompasses Senior Relationship Managers (Dir/MD), Relationship Managers (VP), and Relationship Management Associates & Analysts. The Strategic Accounts team partners across BlackRock to best deliver enterprise value to our clients, most notably BlackRock’s US Wealth Advisory sales and distribution teams.

Role Description:

The Enterprise RIA Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) will be responsible for securing a position of long-term strategic advantage and delivering durable results with the largest & fastest growing Enterprise RIA clients for the firm.  This role will report to the Head of Enterprise RIA, however it will require consistent, collaborative and trusted partnership with the USWA Sales Leadership, USWA Market Leaders, the Strategic Accounts Platform team and numerous senior stakeholders across BlackRock.  This individual must be excellent at partnering across the organization in order to deliver the full breadth of products and investment solutions that BlackRock has to offer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive transformative partnerships with Enterprise RIA firms:  Become the indispensable partner to Enterprise RIA firms and our USWA Market Leaders by delivering deep expertise by understanding, navigating, driving, and commercializing the dynamic Enterprise RIA landscape.  Drive deeper, more productive relationships with C-suite level executives that uncover transformative partnerships that secure positions of long-term strategic advantage.
  • Deliver durable results:  Own USWA collective goals; deliver durable results through complex, holistic and transformative solutions; demonstrate superior client-centric skills that unlock long-term and durable revenue.
  • Build collaborative, trusted and client-centric partnerships:  Effectively partner with USWA Market Leaders, the Enterprise Platform team and various partners across BlackRock to deliver complex, holistic and transformational solutions.
  • Lead the Industry: Know the industry: distill industry perspectives, be agile for emerging trends and maximize commercial opportunities faster and more efficiently than competitors; be a learning leader; be a student of the business, the markets, and the RIA ecosystem.
  • Safeguard the Firm: Utilize CRM for client list and activities; follow all cash/non-cash rules of engagement and other client and BLK compliance and COO procedures.

  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills; a creative thought leader.
  • Exceptional client relationship skills and executive presence to lead existing and build new relationships across C-suite executives at Enterprise RIA firms.
  • Product knowledge of full suite of BLK solutions including - ETFs, mutual funds, model portfolios, separate accounts and alternative investments.
  • Excellent listening skills, strong networking abilities and in-depth knowledge of the RIA ecosystem.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Senior client-facing (10+) years of industry experience required; relationship management, sales experience and/or strategic business development experience preferred.
  • BA/BS degree required.
  • NASD series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses (or 66) required.
  • Clean compliance record required with no prior contractual restrictions regarding distribution of investment products.


 

For New York City and California only the salary range for this position is $190,000 - $240,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
