Senior Accountant / Controller

<h2>Overview</h2> <p>The Senior Accountant / Controller is responsible for the preparation and delivery of the Statutory Books for European Legal Entities, in compliance with local and corporate policies.  With a sound understanding of the Legal Entities´ underlying businesses, he/she is responsible for Financial Accounting, Reporting and Internal Controls.  He/she supports the Country Leaders and business in all accounting matters and is the interface of the company with external Authorities (incl. External Auditors).</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p><strong>YOU will be involved in the following tasks:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Complete Local Book in compliance with statutory and corporate policies (timely closing and reporting for local accounts)</li> <li>Partner with external and internal auditors</li> <li>Reconcile Local Book accounts and local versus US GAAP books</li> <li>Monitor account reconciliations in compliance with the Company’s Global Policies</li> <li>Analyze balance sheet and income statements for Legal Entities within the scope of responsibility</li> <li>Collaborate with Tax for appropriate Income Tax Accruals, Income Tax payments, Tax Cash forecasting, Year-End provisioning and Corporate Income Tax filing</li> <li>Participate in Company projects impacting the Legal Entities in scope</li> <li>Support internal controls in line with SOX 404 as well as the Company’s Internal Control Standards manual</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>What YOU will bring to the team:</strong></p> <ul> <li>University degree in Accounting/Finance</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience required</li> <li>Previous experience in Big4 or multinational companies</li> <li>Experience in US GAAP and European Local GAAP</li> <li>Understanding of Transfer Pricing and intercompany charges.</li> <li>Business proficiency in English is required. Another European language (such as French, German, Dutch) is an asset</li> <li>Good knowledge of SAP and good Microsoft Office skills</li> <li>Good planning &amp; organizing skills</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills</li> <li>Willingness to take responsibility and high degree of motivation</li> <li>Problem-solving and solution oriented</li> <li>Networker; ability to effectively work with a wide variety of organizations and people</li> <li>Flexibility to get rapidly adjusted to new situations in a continuous changing environment</li> </ul>
