About Houston

 

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

 

• Provide technical and administrative support to research and technical staff in developing, operating, and conducting special core and fluid analysis experiments. 

• The open position is located at ExxonMobil Houston Campus in Spring, Texas and reports through Research Lab Operations Supervision 

What you will do

 

• Understand and conduct two phase relative permeability experiments at reservoir conditions. Perform plug preparation, composite assembly, fluid transfers, and material balance of composite fluids, in-situ composite cleaning, and final measurements including permeability, fluid expansion factors, and live oil/gas-oil/gas-brine ratios. 

• Complete pre and post test preparations and measurements including flow through cleaning, measuring basic properties on core material                

• Understand and conduct centrifuge experiments, including capillary pressure, relative permeability, and driving core samples to Swi

• Conduct maintenance of pumps and various other equipment

• Coordinate with research and engineering staff and business partners to plan work studies.

• Assist research staff with data collection, quality checks, and data input/extraction.  

• Troubleshooting: Be able to determine issues with equipment or workflows and collaborate within the team to identify and implement creative solutions.

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

• Capable of independent, safe, reliable laboratory work.

• Must be mechanically inclined and can work hands on.                                                                                                                                                                        

• Knowledge of fluid properties such as viscosity, density, bubble points, and other various characteristics. Additional experience with PVT a plus. 

• Experience using super critical CO2 for core permeability measurements preferred.

• Have in-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment required for special core analysis. Including hands on experience with acoustic separators, Quizix pumps, ISCO pumps, various pressure transducers, density-meters, viscometers and Dispatch/ Blue M ovens.

• Must have experience in handling high temperature, high pressure
