JOB SUMMARY
Add value through knowledge about process engineering, Rapid response to operations in technical resolution, failure analysis, complete risk assessments for all new activities. Completes projects within the site or with suppliers / customers. This is a technical role, but communications skill set is paramount for success. Must be intimately familiar with a wide range of aerospace specific metal material treatment processes as well.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support all production engineering activities within an ESD controlled shop floor environment. Including, but not limited to, equipment fault finding, new product introduction, existing product process verification.
• Complete training in responsibility area, within the time assigned. Training is required for changes and implementation of policies, existing procedures, new functions, etc. Complete retraining required in areas such as Safety and Environment.
• Follow all safety policies of the company and all the safety measures within work area.
• Lead technical projects within manufacturing site or suppliers to improve process capacity capability, yield and maintainability.
• Provide technical support for the resolution of component quality issues.
• Ensures closure to component non-conformance issues with timely corrective action submission and approval of site and/or suppliers control plans.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned
· Implement documentation and controls for all product processes in line with company, international (AS9100) and customer standards.
· Produce, sign off and train operators on new processes providing detailed work instructions for each process or product.
· Complete risk assessments prior to undertaking any activity which is not covered by standard production risk assessment or standard operating procedure (SOP) ensuring that risks and hazards in activities undertaken in the role are acknowledged and conducted in accordance with processes, procedure and measures in place to mitigate risks.
· Advise Management on progress of jobs, parts availability, delivery targets and any emergent problems to meet targets.
· Monitor production processes and take appropriate action to ensure they are adhered to and problems are minimized.
· Take an active part in team training and improvement initiatives.
· May be expected to work occasional extended hours, including weekends, to meet business needs.
· Display flexibility and able to work to tight deadlines.
· Assist with NPI process development.
· FMEA and process control development including inspection and fixture development, machine and media selection and optimization of assets utilized.
· Continuous improvement of process and quality yields.
· Continuous improvement of total component cost.
· Drive standardization of equipment, media, component handling/product setup.
· Assist operation and quality functional organizations with data gathering and reporting.
· Input and assistance with component estimating function.
· Supply necessary technical support to equipment selection process, equipment specifications, bid recaps and necessary capital requests.
