Sr. Residential Drafter

Job Summary: 
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Residential Drafter with proficiency in CAD or Revit and extensive expertise in residential building design. The ideal candidate will lead the drafting team, oversee the production of detailed architectural drawings, and ensure the highest standards of accuracy and compliance with industry regulations. This is a 6 month contract to hire and is eligible for hybrid flexibility in time.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and Design Leadership:
• Lead the development of detailed architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and sections for residential projects using CAD or Revit software.
• Oversee the production of accurate and detailed construction documents and blueprints.
• Ensure all drawings are updated and revised as needed based on project requirements and client feedback.
• Team Management:
• Supervise and mentor junior drafters, providing guidance and ensuring the quality of their work.
• Coordinate with the drafting team to manage workload, set priorities, and meet project deadlines.
• Conduct regular team meetings to review progress and address any challenges.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs meet specifications and project goals.
• Facilitate communication between the drafting team and other departments to incorporate structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into the building design.
• Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide design solutions that meet their expectations.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and regulations.
• Stay updated on industry standards, best practices, and technological advancements in drafting and design software.
• Implement and maintain drafting standards and protocols within the team.
• Project Management:
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to project schedules.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation for future reference and use.
• Conduct site visits as necessary to verify measurements and gather information for design development.
• Quality Control:
• Review and approve drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Implement quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of drafting work.
