PSE's Legal team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Senior NERC Regulatory Compliance Analyst position!

Job Description

The Senior NERC Regulatory Compliance Analyst is primarily responsible for monitoring and staying current on NERC standards and developments, ensuring the organization’s readiness for new requirements. The position is also responsible for conducting in-depth research, planning, developing, and implementing compliance programs to ensure the company meets all federal, state, and other regulatory requirements. Works independently to provide guidance to internal departments regarding regulatory compliance. Designs and leads employee training on relevant regulations as needed. Participates in and contributes to rulemaking proceedings.

Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities

• Researches and remains current on NERC standards and new standards under development.
• Communicates pending or upcoming NERC regulatory proposals. 
• Coordinates PSE readiness for implementation of new NERC requirements across the organization.
• Coordinates new standard commenting/balloting process.
• Plans, develops and implements programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Develops and/or supports training to ensure employees are knowledgeable regarding new standards prior to their effective dates.
• Directs activity for testing, monitoring and support of high level assessment by business unit in regard to formal audits. 
• Interacts with internal and external auditors to provide support and address audit concerns; implements responsive and corrective solutions.
• Provides input into rulemaking proceedings.
• Assists compliance program managers in developing complete and executable plans.
• Formulates sound control practices and processes for managing potential risks and exposures.
• Supports internal controls program management and control effectiveness testing.
• Participates in industry forums and communicates relevant information and best practices to stakeholders.
• Manages and documents corrective and preventive actions in compliance tracking software to ensure timely resolution of identified gaps.
• Manages responses to industry surveys and information requests from regulatory and trade organizations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, economics, and finance, engineering or applicable field, and five years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills including ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new and upgraded computerized systems to job responsibilities, including use of software tracking mechanism for compliance issues, word-processing, spreadsheets and presentation programs.
• Understanding of federal and state rules and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access, or other database applications.

Desired Qualifications

• NERC audit experience
• Familiarity with WECC tools (Align, Secure Evidence Locker, etc.)
• Ethics, compliance and/or business conduct experience in utility sector or other regulated industry.
• Understanding of utility operations and regulations.
• Knowledge of compliance regulations and processes specific to the department/area of hire.
• Proficiency in PowerBI or similar Analytical tools

The pay range for this position is $79,200.00 - $131,700.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
