Engineering Manager, Software Development

The hands-on Engineering Manager, Software Development is responsible to LEAD, design and build highly scalable system to support Lucid Cloud and IoT backend.
The Role:
- Design develop and enhance cloud-based microservice architecture for mission-critical operations
- Web UI/UX Design and development
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, GoLang, MQTT, Rest API, TSL, SSL
- Hands-on in engineering and ability to deep dive into coding
- Create and maintain Architecture, Design, Troubleshooting, Deployment, Configuration documents
- Make key technical implementation decisions and help guide engineering vision
- Provide technical leadership and experience to a growing team of engineers
- Develop frameworks, services, and the necessary tooling to help other engineers build on top
- Evangelize good code and solid engineering practices
- Collaborate with other engineers, product owners, and designers to identify and solve challenging problems
- Lead by example with well designed, factored, and tested code
- Develop, communicate, and evangelize the long-term technical vision and roadmap for data storage, ingestion, and retrieval in collaboration with the technical leads
- Drive the technical and strategic vision for our data integration infrastructure in order to meet current and future needs for scale and interoperability
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related program
- 3+ years of professional software engineering management experience
- 7+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of microservice architecture.
- Ability to cultivate a strong sense of ownership, and build a culture of accountability in your team
- Openness to new or different ideas and ability to evaluate multiple approaches and choose the best one based on fundamental qualities and supporting data
- Ability to communicate highly technical problems and solutions at all levels from engineers to top leadership
- Proven track record of building high functioning teams, setting technical vision, and delivering results in a collaborative, cross-functional organization.
- Experience with Cloud Native Platforms including Kubernetes, Open Shift, Docker, or Cloud Foundry in the public cloud
- Experience with Containers and/or Serverless, Microservices, Functions, Event-driven/reactive programming or other Cloud Native architectures
- Experience deploying systems into a production Cloud Native Environment
- Experience with DevOps and Agile engineering practices
- Experience building scalable, highly available service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra and MongoDB
- Hands-on knowledge of container orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes
- Should have a sound understanding of distributed systems and its paradigms.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/UDP, MQTT, REST, etc.
