The Human Resources (HR) Department has an immediate opening for an HR Business Partner (Intermediate) supporting the National IT (NIT) organization. The Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor, providing consultation to NIT leaders regarding human capital issues and initiatives and demonstrating solid business acumen and customer focus.  In partnership with Senior and Advanced HRBPs, the Intermediate HRBP provides strategic HR consultation and customized solutions to assigned line(s) of business, serves as a strategic partner to the leaders and organizations they support, integrates HR strategy, and provides guidance that adds value to the business.

The HR Business Partner (Intermediate) will provide collaborative or consultative work of varying complexity and provide problem resolution and business support for assigned customer/business group(s). They will direct use of appropriate processes and procedures; coordinate, plan, and execute solutions to meet needs of NIT client work teams, and collaborate and/or coordinate with cross-functional HR partner teams.
 

Additional Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business strategy and operations of the Bank and line of business portfolio 
  • Understand and evaluate the human capital/HR needs of the business unit(s) and provides forward-looking solutions
  • Provide strategic HR support and counsel to the business leaders including workforce planning, succession management, talent/organizational development and performance, organizational design, change management
  • Act as change agent and promotes innovation and continuous improvement
  • Guide the implementation of HR initiatives/solutions for client business lines
  • Provide ongoing leadership coaching and consultation
  • Lead through influence, guiding cross-functional teams comprised of experts from various HR disciplines to ensure business unit objectives and challenges are proactively diagnosed and addressed
  • Partner w/HR cross-functional teams and business points of contact to:
    • Ensure job openings and requirements are clearly understood and proactively addressed;
    • Address staff relations problems, evaluate trends, and develop plans with the business leaders to address trends;
    • Conduct organizational diagnoses, design solutions, and implement solutions to address root causes of organizational design and development issues; and
    • Ensure reward and recognition strategies are effective to attract and retain a high-quality workforce
  • Maintain a knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends that could influence the design and implementation of HR programs and practices
  • Share best practices with HR team leaders across the organization

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years (5+ at the Senior level) of HR-related experience, with proven success in (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (required)
  • Travel to our Charlotte, NC and Baltimore, MD branches on an as needed basis (may be required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills; prudent judgment, and decision-making ability, demonstrating balance that mitigates risk while meeting business needs
  • Solid business acumen, strategic thinking and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Consulting and coaching skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of the HR field and the role of HR in supporting business strategy
  • Ability to identify and implement innovative strategies and tactics that support business strategy
  • Experience supporting IT/technology sector desired
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology desired<
