Position Overview:

As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club team (the nation’s oldest and largest private member boat club), you will be representing the Club to members of the public as the Membership Executive for the locations of the Greater Milwaukee Area Clubs. We are looking for an energetic sales professional with a love for the outdoors. If you are enthusiastic, service-oriented, and passionate about selling, this may be a great opportunity for you. This role is largely commission based, with an annual salary of $25,000 and a per-sale commission, with both monthly and quarterly bonus opportunities.

Essential Functions:

  • Explain the Freedom Boat Club experience and convert the prospect into a member. Close the deal!
  • Ask questions to ensure you understand the prospect and that all his/her questions and concerns have been addressed.
  • Navigate the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to text, call and email prospects.
  • Partner with marketing to organize and hosts events such as boat shows, trade show, open houses, member socials and many additional off-site events.
  • Network in your community to spread awareness of the Club and its offerings.
  • Maintain positive relationships with current memberships dockside, as member referrals are a fantastic way to grow the Club!
  • Work with a team of Membership Executives to share best practices and continuously improve.
  • This role requires non-traditional hours including availability on weekends and holidays, as you need to be available outside of standard business hours for responding to prospects and hosting events.

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of sales experience
  • Experience with Guerilla marketing, networking, hosting events, and closing deals!
  • Relentless follow-up skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated success in selling intangible products
  • Pass a background/education check, and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Boating experience, including formerly owning a boat
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and develop creative win-win outcomes
  • Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised 

Working Conditions:

  • Occasionally work outdoors and in various weather conditions during dock tours or events
  • Work near and on the water 
  • Safely move on, off and in vessels during various tide and weather conditions 
  • Regularly visit all locations within the Club

The majority of the compensation package is a commission-based pay structure, allowing you to earn based on your performance and sales achievements. The anticipated pay range for this position is $25,000 (base only) to $145,000, annually. Actual earnings will depend on various factors, including your sales skills, experience, market conditions, and individual performance. In addition to commission, you have opportunities for bonuses based on achieving and exceed sales targets.
