Business Opportunity:

Reporting to the Global Head of Ratings Strategy, the Director of Strategy and Business Transformation will be responsible for leading strategy development and business transformation efforts, as well as managing a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives as part of strategy execution for the division. They will be responsible for focusing on strategic advisory, project management, and process improvement across the organization in close partnership with Commercial, Analytical, and Corporate Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • In close partnership with S&P Global Ratings Strategy, Analytical and Commercial leadership, and enterprise strategy stakeholders, work on strategic advisory projects focused on strategy and corporate development, and strategic partnerships (including market entry strategies, executive presentations, financial analysis, etc.) for the Ratings division and support execution of strategic investments.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for business and process transformation to drive significant efficiencies for the business in collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Drive development of new business concepts which strengthen S&P Global Ratings’ market position.

  • Develop and maintain financial analysis models to assist in business case development and investment opportunity analysis, as well as project prioritization.

  • Articulate the S&P Global Ratings strategy in a clear and compelling strategic narrative to key stakeholders, tailoring messages depending on executive audience.

  • Identify changes in market conditions, industry trends, regulatory environment, regional or country macro-economic factors, etc. which may require changes to strategic plans.

  • Leverage scenario planning, case studies and modeling capabilities to strengthen the strategy.

  • Manage key stakeholder relationships driving regular communications with project sponsors and steering groups, including executive-level stakeholders.

  • Be a role model, educator, coach, mentor across the wider organization.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. In partnership with Commercial, conduct market research and leverage internal customer insights and NPS data to identify new opportunities and enhance existing products.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $143,244 to $251,511. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years in financial services, business transformation (in the areas of strategic and business planning), and program management

  • Experience managing and delivering on a portfolio of unrelated projects and/or products.  

  • Business transformation and management consulting experience, with experience managing multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.

  • Experience leading strategic initiatives in a matrixed enterprise environment.

  • Strategy/Strategic Alliance teams and Product Development teams

  • Experience leading through mergers and acquisitions.

  • Customer, investor and/or capital markets-facing experience

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and effectively connect stakeholders at all levels across a highly matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated ability of executing initiatives including effectively prioritizing projects and meet aggressive, recurring deadlines.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree: an advanced degree (Masters or MBA) preferred.

  • Understanding of the credit ratings business, and debt capital markets / credit experience.

  • Strategic and analytical skills with ability to draw key insights and develop clear recommendations.
