What You’ll Do:
- Conduct standard biodegradation tests
- Sterile handling of samples and understanding of aseptic technique
- Quantification of pH value
- Measurement of ammonia, nitrogen, chemical oxygen demand (COD) dissolved oxygen (DO) in environmental samples
- Mix large batches of mineral media
- Assist current lab personnel to conduct enzyme studies to evaluate biodegradation
- Conduct benchtop wastewater treatment plant removal studies
- Equipment calibration and maintenance
- Lab upkeep, cleaning and stocking of supplies
- Report results in laboratory notebooks and maintain up to date documentation
What You’ll Need:
- BS in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, microbiology, biology or closely related field
- Masters preferred
- 1-3 Years of Laboratory Testing Procedures
- In-depth knowledge of environmental science laboratory testing procedures
- Experience evaluating the environmental fate of materials
- Extensive chemical, biological or microbiology laboratory experience is preferred
- Familiar with laboratory extraction procedures
- Analytical experience with TOC, HPLC, and other standard analytical techniques
- Precise attention to detail
- Self-motivated and self-sufficient
- Exhibits good writing, communication, and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and similar programs.
