SALARY: $104,800 - $117,900, bonus and long-term incentive eligible

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Manager leads quality, food safety, and compliance for the brewery, ensuring all products and processes meet internal standards and regulatory requirements. This role owns key quality metrics—including food safety, microbiology, and consumer complaints—and uses data to identify gaps, drive root cause analysis, and lead continuous improvement through VPO tools. The position also oversees sanitation programs, critical control points, and compliance with GMP, HACCP, and GFSI standards.
This role partners closely across the site to drive consistent execution and build a strong quality culture. As the site subject matter expert, you’ll work directly with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections while supporting supplier quality and operational performance. Success in this role comes from strong technical knowledge, leadership on the floor, and the ability to drive results through people in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
- This position will support Quality and coordinate initiatives in the Brewery that will ensure integrity in Quality procedures and certifications according to agencies/government regulations.
- Primary responsibility for tracking and monitoring all Quality critical metrics including Food Safety, Microbiology, Consumer Complaints, etc.
- Considered a domain specialist on food safety laws. Interact with government agencies/officials on food safety issues and inspections for the Brewery.
- Lead the continuous improvement of Quality policies and associated important metrics in support of Quality procedures.
- Lead development and monitoring of all critical control points to ensure consistency and quality.
- Lead efforts in the brewery to improve Quality and the effectiveness of plant cleaning and sanitation programs. Evaluate new suppliers of products and equipment in order to reduce costs and improve results.
- Utilize VPO tools to achieve critical metric targets and close gaps in performance (root cause analysis, Gap Analysis, MCRS meeting schedules and action logs, 5 - Why's, PDCA and SDCA cycles, etc.).
- Drive ownership and results via Autonomous Team Strategy
- Responsible for financial performance of area.
- Responsible for driving actions and leading improvement in team engagement
- Oversee preventative maintenance work in area of responsibility.
- Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are being followed.
- Monitor production plans to maintain quality and accomplish current and future schedules.
- Ensure that quality and safety standards are met.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree required, Food/Brewing Science, Microbiology, engineering or related field preferred. MBA a plus.
- In depth knowledge of both brewing and packaging processes, including plant sanitation (CIP/COP) practices.
- Working knowledge current GMPs, HACCP, pest control and allergen control. Expertise in GFSI standards (BRC, FSSC22000, SQF, etc.) a plus.
- At least five years of experience in the food and beverage industry required.
- In depth knowledge of food/brewing microbiology and microbiological methods used in the brewing industry.
