WORK WEEK SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends)
POSITION PURPOSE:
Increases the capacity of teachers to use technology and to develop curriculum to effectively integrate the use of technology in the teaching and learning process. Advises School Media and Technology Advisory Committees (MTAC) and provides training and coaching support to staff on technology integration. Provides information and support for the North Carolina Digital Learning Competencies for teachers and administrators at schools within an assigned area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)
- Extensive knowledge of state and national standards for curriculum including instructional technology;
- Extensive knowledge of pedagogical practices, instructional frameworks, and assessment;
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point; Google Apps;
- Excellent organizational and management skills;
- Ability to demonstrate successful experience of effective practices for teaching and learning;
- Ability to demonstrate success working with peers or other adults in leadership or training roles;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and community members.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Education from a regionally accredited college or university; OR
- Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from a regionally accredited college or university;
- Five years of successful school-based experience;
- Experience facilitating and coaching teams and individuals;
- Successful experience providing professional learning to instructional staff.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in Computer Education (18079); OR
- Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in Instructional Technology Specialist-Computers (00077);
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in an educational field;
- Five years of successful experience as a classroom teacher.
