Director of Physical Security
CoreWeave is seeking a seasoned Director of Physical Security to build, scale, and lead our global physical security program across a rapidly growing portfolio of data centers and office locations. This leadership role is critical in safeguarding our people, infrastructure, and assets through proactive risk management, robust policy development, and operational excellence. You will establish the foundation of our physical security function, including hiring and managing a high-performing team and implementing standards that support our fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and scale a global physical security strategy for a growing data center organization, including U.S. and international locations.
- Build and lead a physical security team, including hiring, performance management, and defining team structure to support geographic expansion.
- Establish and enforce physical security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with compliance requirements and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of physical security systems such as access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, alarms, and visitor management across all sites.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and threat analyses to guide strategic security investments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Data Center Operations, IT, Facilities, Information Security, Legal, and People to ensure alignment and integration of security practices.
- Select, manage, and evaluate third-party security service providers across diverse locations.
- Operate daily physical security operation procedures at all CoreWeave locations
- Respond to and investigate physical security incidents, provide root cause analyses, and develop prevention strategies.
- Lead physical security planning for new site construction and expansion, working closely with design and construction teams.
- Stay current on global security threats and technologies and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support business continuity and emergency response initiatives related to physical security.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in physical security leadership roles, preferably within mission-critical environments such as data centers, logistics, or high-security facilities.
- Proven experience building and scaling security programs and teams across multiple sites and jurisdictions (domestic and international).
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and industry standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and physical security controls for high-availability environments.
- Demonstrated success in developing policy, deploying global security systems, and managing complex vendor relationships.
- Demonstrated success in running physical security operations across data center facilities and corporate office locations
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-growth company where speed, adaptability, and judgment are key.
- Willingness and ability to travel to support global site operations.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $190,000-$200,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position also includes a discretionary bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
