JOB SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a Researcher Engineer. This role will be based in our Bologna office reporting to R&D Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

• Research and technological/algorithmic analysis of the company products and electrical systems on which the analyses are carried out;
• Contribute to the development of prototype and series instruments and sensors;
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the databases necessary to implement increasingly reliable and effective predictive systems and statistical analyses;
• Manage innovative projects by interfacing with customers and suppliers;
• Explore new technologies and apply them to business solutions.
• Contribute to the dissemination of company technology through the writing of scientific articles, participate in inter-company working groups, international conferences, technical committees for the drafting of international standards and meetings with customers as support to the commercial department.
• Support to the sales network on issues relating to electrical measurements, including analysis and interpretation of complex electrical phenomena on high voltage assets;
• Participation in Esco/Doble conferences and working groups, including international ones, on product integration;
• Development of artificial intelligence algorithms (project in the conception and launch phase);
• Market analysis of competitor products (products, systems, sensors);
• Commissioning of monitoring systems on pilot projects, with high potential for the company

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent scientific qualification.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

• previous experience in Agile contexts and the use of versioning software.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Understand the data obtained from the measurements, analyze the results, apply statistical techniques and provide the related reports;
• Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex databases;
• Design and develop meaningful databases and data collection systems to test and improve analytical models;
• Analytically model the electrical systems on which the measurements are carried out;
• Collaborate with company management to identify company development and growth priorities by providing the necessary information;
• Identify and define opportunities for improving measurement and analysis processes.

• Fluent in English
• Excellent knowledge of programming languages ​​(Python, Labview, Matlab/Octave);
• Math/statistical skills based on the use of advanced IT tools for data management and analysis;
• Business analysis skills: the ability to understand the business context and speak with internal interlocutors of the business lines to understand their needs, objectives and desires.
• Knowledge of MS Office package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
• Knowledge of data mining methods and machine learning and fuzzy logic techniques;
• Knowledge of relational (SQL) and non-relational (Mongo DB) databases.
• Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information paying particular attention to the detail and accuracy of the same;
