Job Description
The ServiceNow Director of Strategy and Operations’ primary role will be to work alongside the CTO’s Chief of Staff on all matters pertaining to budget, finance, reporting, headcount, annual operating plans/long range planning, and various other responsibilities pertaining to such matters.
This role will also manage a team of program managers, each of whom are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of reporting and timely execution of all the above functions. The success of this role will be carefully measured using agreed upon metrics, 360 feedback, and insights from our annual Employee Voice Survey.
This role will report to the Chief of Staff for the CTO and will work in close collaboration with the Director of Engineering Engagement and Culture, Director of Business Partners, as well as the various Chiefs of Staff serving the many business units that make up the Unified Technology Group at ServiceNow.
What you get to do in this role:
Continue existing, and establish best practices pertaining to budget management and planning
Maintain precise tracking of all budgets, headcounts, and other key metrics across the Unified Technology Group
Partner with the various Chiefs of Staff in the Technolgy org to ensure a clean roll up of all numbers pertaining to the larger org – including but not limited to budgets (OpEx, T&E, etc.), headcount, attrition, and more
Lead and motivate a team of exceptional program managers to ensure operational success for specific budget, planning, and strategy
Establish and maintain high standards of operational excellence including execution, reporting, risk management and mitigation, and accountability
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- 12+ years in technology operations role, corporate finance role, or equivalent experience
Masters level education or equivalent experience
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with specific experience in budget and finance planning for cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams
Strong critical thinking and analytical reporting skills – an ability to leverage key metrics and indicators to achieve desired outcomes
Proven track record of improving finance and planning practices to improve the operational excellence of large (5,000+) technology orgs
Comprehensive knowledge of corporate finance methodologies and best practices
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong team management and leadership capabilities
A track record of empathy for and connection with the roles in a tech organization
An understanding of ServiceNow technology and its many applications to Business Operations and Planning
A fundamental understanding of software engineering and development a plus
