We are seeking an experienced and driven Power Architect to join our dynamic team as a specialist in Power Modeling. You will create and validate power models for our advanced semiconductor designs.
Your work will play a crucial role in accurately predicting power consumption, optimizing energy efficiency, and ensuring the success of our cutting-edge integrated circuits. You are empowered to innovate and experiment with new ideas while contributing to impactful ongoing deliverables to optimize power consumption in mobile chipset design and broadening your knowledge of whole system design.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- You are passionate about developing accurate power models for various levels of design abstraction, from RTL to gate level.
- You are skilled at collaborating closely with architecture, design, and verification teams to understand power requirements and specifications.
- You get excited about utilizing industry-standard power modeling tools and methodologies to create detailed power models.
- You validate and refine power models using simulation and real-world power measurements.
- You delve into the lowest level details of Coherent fabric, Memory controller LLC design specification, implementation and its performance impact.
- You are a collaborative team player. You interact with architects and u-architects to define detailed scope of micro architectural features to save power, while working with physical design teams to ensure power models are seamlessly integrated into the design flow.
- You analyze power modeling results to identify potential areas for power reduction and optimization.
- You provide guidance to design teams on power-related decisions based on power model analysis.
- You are a lifelong learning. You keep up-to-date with emerging power modeling techniques, standards, and tools.
- You provide support to have an end-to-end correlation from model to post-silicon.
Skills and Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or 4+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree, or 2+ years of experience with a PhD
- Proficiency in languages like Python, C++ for model
- Substantial experience in power modeling and analysis for complex semiconductor designs.
- Strong understanding of digital design concepts and semiconductor technology.
- Strong understanding of mobile chip architecture and design concepts.
- Strong understanding of dynamic and leakage power tradeoff
- Understanding of mobile DVFS sequence
- DRAM Power Understanding
- PMIC understanding on mobile
- Silicon power measurement experience
- Good understanding of mobile scenarios
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of memory subsystem, including interconnect, last-level cache, coherency, and memory controller [DDR, LPDDR or HBM] is a plus
