About the role

Nokia has a Global Business Services Center (GBS) in Budapest with about 260 employees providing financial services globally. We are seeking for a candidate who will support accounting activities in east European countries. 


 

Preparation of Tax account reconciliations (between local accounting / IFRS accounting / Tax Return analytics) on different tax types for East European countries

  • Indirect Tax (VAT)
  • Direct Tax (CIT, WHT)
  • Other local taxes (property, green tax etc)
  • Aged item management: identify, escalate, follow up

Performing regular or ad hoc accounting tasks:

  • Booking accruals, Tax related journals
  • clearing GL accounts (matching payments vs accruals)

Manages, monitors and controls the outsourced Tax Compliance related activities (tasks provided by local external Service provider)

  • to be compliant with statutory due dates, as well as internal deadlines
  • Reviewing Tax Returns (VAT, WHT, other taxes: property, green tax etc.)
  • Reviewing reconciliation between Tax Return vs Accounting figures
  • Ensures that the right process is followed and they are compliant with Nokia global policies and guidance

Performing SOX controls, evaluation of tax risks 

Supporting the local Finance Accounting Manager for questions and issues arising from daily business concerning Tax accounting 

Required Experience

  • Written and spoken English is a requirement 
  • Experience and good understanding of statutory and accounting processes (full scale accounting)
  • 7+ years of experience in tax area (including both indirect and direct taxes)
  • Finance or economics degree
  • External service provider management experience is an advantage
