Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Director of Strategic Analytics and Assessment, College of Education [R0142949].

ROLE of the POSITION

The Director solely directs data-driven projects and personnel toward quality assurance, data management and analytics, and the assessment of processes by which the College of Education (COE) measures improvement and holds itself accountable. Specifically, the position establishes and oversees the coordination of relevant stakeholders, accreditation, and all assessment data management and analytics systems in the COE. Subsequently, Director provides statistics, visualizations, and storytelling of these data to internal and external parties.

The Director designs and supervises strategic initiatives along with their concomitant resources, personnel, and implementation processes. This process involves extensive quantitative and qualitative research, iterative development, managing stakeholders, and timely deployment into action plans, professional development, Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, etc. The process also includes mentoring administrative faculty in developing and assessing individual goals.

Additionally, the Director briefs and advises the COE Dean on pressing issues and provide methods to address them by establishing strategic priorities and organizing the required assets.

The Director supervises staff and faculty in their data management and provide data refinement and validation processes through extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data and BI development. The Director may be asked to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and conferences. The Director facilitates concerted efforts and gain consensus on the prioritization of key issues aligned with strategic initiatives and values of the COE and communicate those to internal and external audiences.

The Director leads the accreditation efforts for the College (AAQEP).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and least five years of experience in data or computer science including ETL, analytics, and business intelligence. Additionally, the candidate must have three years of experience in assessment and strategy along with associated initiatives such as accreditation, reporting, and presentation. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Five or more years of senior or director level leader experience is preferred.
