Position Overview:
The Warehouse Manager is a member of the facility leadership team with functional responsibility around warehouse logistics. The Warehouse Manager’s main function is to supervise the material handling process from the purchase order receipt through the internal flow of production materials and finished goods to the warehousing, shipping, and distribution of the finished product.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for continuously optimizing the supply chain materials functions including demand planning, production planning, inventory management, and shipping/receiving.
- Ensures warehouse operations comply with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution
- Ensure efficient work center loads, lead times, and material availability to meet customer order requirements.
- Key leader in the collaborative relationship between maintenance, production, purchasing, and quality assurance to ensure a quality process and the product is delivered on time and in full meeting customer expectations.
- Directs the receipts, storage, movement, and shipping of inventory in the plant; leadership of inventory process on a regularly scheduled basis; and provides leadership to meet inventory targets.
- Monthly reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Supply Chain function.
- Supports the organization's supply chain strategy through maintenance of appropriate inventory levels and timely distribution of goods.
- Ensure the flow of materials within the plant is done in the most efficient and effective manner
- Optimize the layout of the raw materials and finished good warehouses so that space is utilized to its fullest and in the most productive structure
- Institute cost savings activities to drive down the overall material movements within the plant
- Supervises all material handlers, inventory control, and shipping department team members.
- Ensures adherence and accountability to all material & inventory control policies and procedures
- Driven to ensure that inbound & outbound shipments are completed timely, received/shipped with 100% accuracy, and meet all customers’ expectations & standards
- Ensures that proper FIFO and rotational procedures are being followed to keep obsolescence costs down
- Works with inventory control to identify aging products and diligently drive resolution to reduce/limit the number of write-offs
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and stock adjustments. Takes the necessary actions to prevent inventory discrepancies.
- Lends guidance over the scheduling & replenishment functions and personnel in compliance with corporate guidelines
- Provides SAP training and support to staff members
- Is utilized as an SAP SME within the facility and outside the facility at other plants as necessary
- Responsible for organizing quarterly inventory counts: ensuring production orders are closed out, setting up count teams, data entering, creating count sheets, investigating discrepancies, etc.
- Provide updates to customer service and sales on product transfer schedules. Communicate status of product transfers. Schedule and prioritize product loads based on customer needs. Communicate priorities to the forklift drivers.
