About the role

ARETUM, a leading government contracting company specializing in technology-enabled mission support services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior FOIA Analyst to join our team. As a Senior FOIA Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program and ensuring compliance with FOIA regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze FOIA requests to determine if they meet the requirements for processing.
  • Conduct research and gather information from various sources to support FOIA requests.
  • Prepare written responses to FOIA requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with FOIA regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and subject matter experts to gather and review responsive documents.
  • Track and monitor FOIA requests, ensuring timely responses and adherence to established deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff regarding FOIA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay updated on changes in FOIA regulations and guidelines, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the FOIA program.
  • Manage and maintain FOIA tracking systems and databases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a FOIA Analyst, preferably in a government contracting or federal agency environment.
  • Strong knowledge of FOIA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing FOIA requests and determining eligibility for processing.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise responses to FOIA requests.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using FOIA tracking systems and databases.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools and applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
