Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Onsite Senior Engineers to join our growing team that is based in Jacksonville, FL.  The Engineer may be civil, structural, electrical or mechanical.

The Onsite Senior Engineer role is located full-time on site in Kings Bay, GA at the Navy’s SUBASE, for a large multi-discipline project providing new and renovated facilities for landside support of the Navy’s mission.  King's Bay, GA is located 38 miles from Jacksonville, FL

We are seeking qualified candidates with senior-level experience overall in the practice of building engineering, with a specific focus and expertise in construction administration, ideally having been located on-site in previous roles.  The importance of this role is shared by AECOM and our client, to be the on-site representative for AECOM and client advocate.

Candidates should possess high level of technical expertise monitoring construction works against the Contract Documents, interpreting the Contract Documents with industry and professional judgement and the quality/standard to our client.  Candidates should possess high level of proficiency in constructability matters and on-site procedures – to regularly interface to the contractor and client’s site personnel.  The role and responsibilities are provided under our construction technical support scope of services for the project.

Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Onsite Representation for AECOM for PCAS Services (construction technical and administrative support), working closely with Client and User Group(s).  The role is on-site full time.
  • Accountable for the planning and coordination of site related activities, with AECOM Office staff and Designers of Record (DORs).
  • Develop working plans and procedures between AECOM onsite staff and office staff.  Working closely with the Project Manager and other senior staff to deliver efficient and effective PCAS Services.
  • Interface with multiple contractors on behalf of Client and AECOM.
  • Attend regular project meetings and facilitate key actions with AECOM office team.
  • Evaluate and determine course for resolution of issues to Client and contractors.
  • Responsible for the management of timely responses to RFIs and reviews of construction submittals.
  • Assists the Project Management team in reviewing and implementing RFI's, Submittals, Shop Drawings, and change orders.
  • Assists the Project Manager in reviewing project scheduling of PCAS activities related to overall construction.
  • Work with document control systems, project management systems and other software or databases to keep information flow up-to-date and accurate.
  • Attend QC and Production meetings and prepare minutes, daily reports, and summary of actions required for PCAS.
  • Monitor design changes, contractor and sub-contractor activities and progress.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechamical or Structural Engineering + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Licensed Engineer in the United States is required.
  • Senior Level Design and Construction related experience including with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated experience for supervision of the AECOM onsite team.
  • Demonstrated experience for managing and leading the activities required by AECOM onsite team.
  • Demonstrated experience with constructability and building systems, with an emphasis during construction administration services.
  • Previous experience leading construction administration services.
