The Supply Chain Director is a prominent member of the site leadership team based at our Oklahoma City medical equipment manufacturing facility. The role has full responsibility for the SCM performance at the site and works in close cooperation with the Global Supply Chain teams across the Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, and Wound Franchises. The role is responsible for supervising all elements of the site supply chain which include the leadership and development of our incumbent Purchasing, Planning, Warehouse operations and the associated systems and teams. Key deliverables are: Inventory management, Supplier performance, Master schedule management, KPI implementation, team development and performance metrics.  The SCM Director has three functional managers reporting directly comprising of Purchasing manager, Planning Manager and Warehouse and logistics manager and is responsible for a team of approximately 30 SCM employees. The ideal applicant will have the ability to drive positive change and improvement to the MRP system parameters (ideally with SAP experience). Interrogate forecasts and demand planning data and develop system generated reporting tools that will form the basis of a strong lean SCM performance. To that end, knowledge of Power BI, or similar, would be extremely advantageous. In addition, it is essential that the individual has the ability to lead, mentor and develop a highly motivated team, by coaching and instilling the newly developed KPIs, methodologies and reporting tools. What will you be doing?

  • Review demand planning data across all Franchises and insure they are accurately reflected in the SAP MRP system. Challenging unusual patterns and fluctuations and tracking impacts of change.
  • Analyze and capture demand schedule changes and report the site’s ability to adhere to the requirements based on material and manufacturing capacity.
  • Develop and implement monthly production plans and material availability techniques to ensure business delivery objectives are met.
  • Develop, manage and report key performance indicator dashboards, departmental measurement, target attainment and track trends.
  • Develop and manage material management tools for all three direct report functions. (for example: supplier performance, Can-build scenario planning, inventory management and schedule adherence)
  • In conjunction with Global Procurement Team, conduct monthly supplier performance reviews to ensure adequate supplier capacity and attainment is in place to support production plans now and in the future.
  • Proactively resolve supply and output constraints and highlight SCM business performance risks.
  • Refine SAP MRP system parameters to drive material availability whilst minimizing inventory levels.
  • In conjunction with Production Management and Plant Finance prepare capacity planning reviews to ensure adequate staffing and resources are in place to support production and financial goals.
  • Review forecast and inventory projections to adequately inform management of future impact and direction to ensure inventory levels are in line with business goals.
  • Develop annual budgets for the Supply Chain Team. Ensure adherence to budget.
  • Support NPD and transfer projects to ensure effective introduction to Manufacturing.
  • Provide governance, support, training and career development plans for the SCM functional teams.
  • Formulate and implement LEAN/Continuous Improvement projects to improve productivity.
  • Actively participate in the site leadership meetings, contribute to the site strategic plans and promote employee engagement across the site.
  • Fulfills Quality System requirements as described within the Quality Manual; Complies with all health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and job hazard assessments applicable to specified job activities as required by job function.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.

What will you need to be successful?

Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in the management of the following: materials management, purchasing, inventory control, production planning, scheduling, capacity resource planning; Five (5) years’ experience with Enterprise Operating Systems (SAP desired); Working knowledge of Power BI and Microsoft office.
