Internship Overview The TAIT Internship program is a fully immersive, experiential program. Interns are placed in a department based on their major and interests, but it is up to them to set goals and define their experience at TAIT. Position Details Position: Mechanical Design and Engineering Interns Job Specifications: Mechanical Design and Engineering Interns will be involved with project-based work and focus on specialized machinery, fabrications, and structures primarily for the entertainment technology industry. Mechanical Design and Engineering Interns will draw on mainstream engineering principles and practices to create custom, innovative solutions. Location: West Lincoln Facility in Lititz, PA Duration: 06/09/2025 - 08/15/2025 Compensation: $18/hr. Schedule: Interns are scheduled to work 40 hours per week on 1st shift dependent on projects and business needs Eligibility: This role is open to U.S. Residents only Intern Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on experience creating custom design solutions
- Development of schematic concepts, studies and layouts
- Freehand sketching and drafting to communicate ideas and solutions in a collaborative environment
- Study, concept, and model full featured designs using CAD
- Assist Designers and Engineers in the creation of custom solutions for challenging engineering problems
- Application of physics principles to assist in solving complex problems
- Carry out calculations to analyze problems and validate solutions
- Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent in a related field:
- Mechanical and Electrical Design
- Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
- Control Engineering
- Technical Theatre
- Physics
- Graduating in between December 2024 - May 2026
- GPA: 2.8 or Above
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and software
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in specific manufacturing tasks and processes
