Compensation: Hourly starting range $18 - $35; Commensurate to Skills and Experience.
Hours: Full-time Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Position Description
Maas Energy Works (MEW) is looking for a Mechanical Assistant that will play a supporting role in the assembly, maintenance, and enhancement of biogas processing systems. The Assistant will be responsible for helping with the assembly and setup of biogas systems, conducting preventative maintenance, and assisting with system troubleshooting and repairs. This position requires hands-on involvement in maintaining both mechanical and electrical components, such as compressors, pumps, blowers, hardline piping, and gas analyzers.
The Assistant will also support fieldwork at various biogas sites, supporting the safe and efficient operation of systems that convert organic waste into biogas energy.
This role involves exposure to cutting-edge renewable energy technologies and provides an excellent opportunity for career development in the rapidly growing biogas and renewable energy industry. This position will gain you practical experience in installing and calibrating gas analyzers, inspecting systems, replacing worn parts, and helping perform system upgrades to enhance performance and efficiency. As safety and compliance are paramount in this industry, the Assistant will also be expected to adhere to strict safety protocols, assisting in ensuring that all work is performed to meet industry regulations and environmental standards. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and an interest in renewable energy and industrial maintenance.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the assembly and installation of biogas processing systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
• Organize tools, materials, and components for system setup.
• Help the team perform system upgrades to improve performance and efficiency.
• Assist with installing new parts or retrofitting existing systems with updated components.
• Assist in performing scheduled preventative maintenance on biogas processing systems, including blowers, pumps, compressors, and valves.
• Lubricate and replace worn parts, gaskets, and filters as directed by senior staff.
• Assist in providing emergency field maintenance for biogas systems, and troubleshoot minor mechanical and electrical issues, providing hands-on support as needed.
• Assist in the calibration and routine maintenance of gas analyzers.
• Help install and maintain hardline piping, valves, and fittings related to gas flow systems.
• Aid in handling electrical components, such as sensors, wiring, and control systems, and assist in replacing and maintaining small electrical parts under the supervision of senior technicians.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines for working in hazardous environments.
• Assist in following environmental regulations and ensure safe handling of biogas and other materials.
• Assist in documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance details.
• Maintain accurate records of parts and materials used during maintenance.
• Help prepare equipment and tools for maintenance or installation jobs and ensure work areas are cleaned and organized after tasks are completed.
• Actively participate in training and development opportunities provided by the company & stay updated on new technologies and techniques related to biogas processing systems.

Qualifications & Skills
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training or certification in mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Entry-level position; 0-2 year of experience in mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or a related fiel
