Summary of Job Duties:

The Event Operations Assistant will work 15-20 flexible hours per week. This position will provide support to all logistical operations for the Union Event Services Program. This position will provide customer service to Union customers and requests, assist in the setup of furniture and audio-visual equipment needed for meetings and events, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure all rooms and event spaces are ready for meetings and events. The Event Operations Assistant will also effectively communicate with other Union support teams including, but not limited to Custodial, Maintenance, Ozark Catering, and Union administration staff. An open mind to on-the-job learning opportunities, punctuality, teamwork, and communication skills are essential to this position. This position will also have opportunities for professional development in the event industry and emergency management training.

Must have some night and weekend availability as needed to work events. Night and weekend availability, flexible work ability, and the ability to lift up to 50lbs are required

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Arkansas and must be in good academic standing with majors in Hospitality/Event Management, Sports Management, and/or Business are preferred
