The registered professional clinical nurses (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve, outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards.

Qualifications 

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Minimum of 3 years PCU acute care nursing experience required
  • Commitment to upholding the values and standards of IU Health
  • Excellent Communication and teamwork skills
  • Requires travel to other locations as necessary
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Clinical Nurse Gig Worker Requirements:

  • Will placed based on candidate preferences and business need (West, East, Metro, South) 
  • Not scheduled, will pick up shifts via UKG Open Shifts  
  • First to be cancelled 
  • Fair market value flat rate of $45/hr. Not eligible for differentials 
  • Minimum of 3 years Nursing experience required 
  • Minimum worked hours: 12hrs every 90 days not to exceed 24hrs/week 
  • If a team member does not complete a minimum of 12 hours of work within a 90-day period, their position may be subject to termination 
  • No weekend or holiday requirement 
  • No benefits 
  • Eligible for variable shift incentives, with no minimum hours required to qualify
