Medical Surgical Acute Care 6 is a 39-bed acuity adaptable medical and progressive level of care unit. Of the 39 beds, 6 include progressive care level unit rooms. Our primary focus is on gastrointestinal procedures while also including ENT and GYN. Nurses are trained to care for a variety of medical/surgical patients presenting with COPD, chest pain, dehydration, sepsis, COVID primary focus on gastrointestinal procedures while also including ENT and GYN. We primarily care for patients with medical conditions consisting of COPD, chest pain, dehydration, sepsis, COVID, and other conditions.

Qualifications 

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
