Job Description
Brookfield is a global asset manager focused on real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy & transition, private equity, credit and insurance solutions (the “Business Groups”) with over $1 trillion of assets under management.
The Global Client Group (“GCG”) provides solutions for investors across the Brookfield Asset Management organization. GCG also manages institutional relationships, strategic partnerships and raises capital for Brookfield’s various private funds and Affiliate Managers.
The Strategic Partnerships team focuses on leading the efforts with our Partner Managers or Affiliated Managers – referred to as Strategic Partners. These Partners typically pursue strategies that are non-core to Brookfield, such as Pinegrove Venture Partners. Pinegrove is a joint venture between Brookfield and Sequoia Heritage, managers over $10B in AUM and offers a comprehensive suite of venture solutions, including venture funds of funds, venture secondaries, and venture debt.
The team will hand-in-hand with Strategic Partners to position their funds for growth, focusing on capital raising. Key responsibilities include spearheading new product initiatives, managing the fundraising process, overseeing diligence management, and collaborating with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Tax, and Legal. Additionally, the team partners closely with the broader GCG team, leveraging its established capital-raising infrastructure to support our Strategic Partners’ success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, the candidate will focus on the following key areas:
Fundraise Management: Drive the lifecycle of a fundraise from product approval to post-closing.
Fundraising Strategy: Design, build, and manage the fundraising strategy for funds.
Campaign Monitoring: Monitor and report the progress of fundraising campaigns to all relevant stakeholders.
Strategy Adaptation: Adapt and adjust strategies as circumstances change.
Investor Engagement: Develop and execute strategies for generating investor interest and driving momentum to achieve targets.
Decision Facilitation: Facilitate key decisions throughout the fundraise process with all relevant stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management: Create a stakeholder management strategy involving Diligence Management, Marketing & Content, Client Relationship Management, Product Development, Investor Relations, Legal, Compliance, Finance & Operations, and the Investment Teams.
Due Diligence Management: Partner with prospective investors to manage all aspects of the due diligence process.
Deliverable Development: Develop and manage required due diligence deliverables to advance clients during fundraising, including DDQs, RFPs, RFIs, quantitative datasets, ODD presentations, etc.
Investor Interactions: Plan and oversee interactions between prospective investors and investment teams/other subject matter experts (tax, legal, etc.) as part of the due diligence process.
Material Preparation: Review the preparation of materials for investment teams in relation to investor meetings.
Industry Research: Research relevant industry and competitor analysis to inform the product development strategy and related decisions.
Product Evaluation: Evaluate new product possibilities and develop data-driven recommendations.
Marketing Collaboration: Partner with the Marketing team to package the new product and develop key messaging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, or another relevant discipline; MBA is preferred.
Experience: 12+ years of financial services-related experience with a focus on the asset management industry.
Sector Knowledge: Experience with private funds, with a preference for Private Equity sector-related products, and knowledge of the investment management business.
