Position Specific Description
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced IT Asset Lifecycle Leader to oversee the management and optimization of our organization's IT assets and their software operating systems throughout their entire lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the business case planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of IT assets, ensuring optimal utilization, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulations. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to drive IT asset management initiatives.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement IT asset lifecycle management policies, procedures, and best practices.
2. Coordinate the procurement process for IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and services, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and organizational requirements.
3.Oversee the development of business cases and cost savings ideas as inputs into budgeting process. This will be done in collaboration with the product teams.
4. Oversee the deployment and configuration of IT assets, working closely with IT teams to ensure smooth integration into the existing infrastructure.
5. Manage the maintenance and support of IT assets, including scheduling regular maintenance activities, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs or replacements as needed in collaboration with the operations and support teams.
6. Conduct regular audits and assessments of IT assets to ensure accuracy of inventory data, identify underutilized or obsolete assets, and optimize asset utilization.
7. Track and monitor operating system software licenses, subscriptions, and maintenance agreements to ensure compliance with licensing agreements and optimize license utilization.
8. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, renewals, and service level agreements, and manage vendor relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery.
9. In collaboration with the product teams, develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to IT asset lifecycle management processes, procedures, and configurations.
10. Provide training and support to end-users and IT staff on IT asset management practices and procedures.
11. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in IT asset management to continuously improve processes and systems.
**Qualifications:**
1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. At least 5 years of experience in IT asset management or a related field, with a proven track record of success in managing IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
3. Strong understanding of IT asset management principles, processes, and best practices.
4. Experience with IT asset management software tools and systems.
5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
8. Relevant certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) preferred.
9. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to IT asset management (e.g., ITIL, ISO 19770) is a plus.
10. Experience in negotiating contracts, vendor management, and cost optimization initiatives is desirable.
