Position Summary:
Bechtel is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the Process and System engineering department within the Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit (M&T). The prime roles and responsibilities include:
Assigned on projects to develop an area from conceptual phase to EPC phase. Plans and conducts independent work within M&T to support all business lines (Semiconductor, Electric Vehicle, Battery, and Data Center) requiring judgment in evaluation, selection, application and adaption of design on a project. Knows applicable industry standards and codes, accepted design practices and quality standards for a global business unit.
Project Overview
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers.
Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline.
Position Summary
The Preservation and Maintenance (P&M) Field Engineer reports to the Lead Mechanical Field Engineer and the Project Field Engineer. This individual is responsible for providing technical assistance, direction, and support to field supervision for all P&M activities for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment received on site. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Review applicable supplier manuals, standard procedures, and applicable codes to establish storage requirements and P&M requirements and frequencies for all permanent plant equipment that will be received and installed.

Ensure database applications, including TEAMWorks and EQMS (Equipment Preservation Module) are populated with all data necessary to administer the P&M program.

Provide preservation maintenance technical direction and task priority for the execution of P&M activities.

Conduct field inspections to verify execution of P&M activities and verify records completed by P&M personnel for completeness and accuracy.

Enter P&M completion data into the EQMS system. Produce reports and provide management with summary and analysis to identify trends and gaps in the P&M process.

Initiate Non-conformance reports to formally document equipment that is damage or not in accordance with project specifications. Work with Lead Mechanical Field Engineer, engineering, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and provide technical direction to superintendents and craft to implement remedial action.

Develop and review preservation maintenance procedures to optimize the preservation effort to minimize costs and meet minimum preservation requirements to ensure maintenance of warranty for vendor-supplied materials and equipment while under the control of Bechtel.

Execute field material takeoffs, providing input to tracking and reporting on weekly preservation activities to Project Management, and monitoring work performance compared to project budget and schedule.
