Position summary
The incumbent plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluations, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. This requires devising new approaches to problems encountered. The position requires sufficient professional experience to ensure the competence of a fully trained worker.
This position will be primarily responsible for production floor support and process improvement for the assembly of complex, tight tolerance components utilizing automated assembly equipment including power and free conveyor systems, robotics, and vision systems. Additional responsibilities include procurement of new equipment to support capacity uplifts and new programs as well as quoting of new business.
Key accountabilities
Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification.
Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice. Controls a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
Retains a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a firm understanding of principles and practices of related specialties. May supervise technicians on assigned work when needed.
Provides a smooth interchange of ideas and information between supervisor, engineers, co-workers, and customers.

Evaluating employees’ tasks and responsibilities, identifying procedures or tools to improve productivity.
Education and experience
A BS in Industrial Engineering
Minimum 5 years related experience in a technical environment required; experience in the automotive industry or a global manufacturing company preferred.
Candidate must have a very good understanding of engineering and scientific theory principles, concepts, techniques and processes and should be able to apply past experience to determine appropriate technique and procedure in efficient manner with little direction or guidance.
Candidates with relevant work experience preferred.
A Master's Degree in Engineering and experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
Compensation
Salary - $80,000 - $110,000
