The Graduate Assistant will support communications for programs like Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT), Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) and Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN), Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM), and other related mental health programs. TCHATT provides telemedicine or telehealth programs to school districts to help identify and assess the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents and provide access to mental health services. CPAN and PeriPAN provide primary care clinic providers and OBGYNs prompt access to on-call psychiatrists to provide expertise in assessment, treatment, and referrals for pediatric and/or perinatal patients identified as having a mental health challenge. YAM is a school-based program for students in eighth through 12th grades to learn about and explore the topic of mental health. This position has a start date of 5/16/2026 and an end date of 8/15/2026. There may be the opportunity to renew this position based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue.

Purpose

The Graduate Assistant will assist with the development and execution of visual and digital communications in support of TCMHCC programs, including CPAN, PeriPAN, and TCHATT. The role is responsible for designing high-quality, accessible, and culturally responsive materials that translate complex clinical and programmatic information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences. In addition to graphic design, this position assists with digital communications across websites, email campaigns, and social media, while maintaining brand consistency and optimizing audience engagement through data-driven insights.

The role supports strategic communications planning, assists in developing integrated written and visual content, and ensures alignment with institutional priorities and guidelines. The Graduate Assistant will collaborate with clinicians, outreach teams, and external vendors to assist in producing materials for events, trainings, and stakeholder engagement, while overseeing distribution lists, content access, and reporting for communication campaigns. Internally, the role contributes to cross-functional coordination, supports internal communications, and maintains organized systems for content and design assets.
