About the role

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Data Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location. As a Data Systems Engineer on our team, you will provide Systems Engineering support to the Agency’s Chief Data Architect (CDA) coordinating the following Working Groups (WG):

  • Data Strategy WG
  • Dissemination Architecture WG
  • Data Architecture Strategy Requirements WG
  • Drafting Policy and Standards

You will assist the CDA in communications strategies to the Enterprise and Mission programs; support the community data architecture activities of the CDA; and assist in the identification of process risks and determinations of appropriate response(s) and mitigations and assist in identifying and validating stakeholder requirements.

You will also analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop data requirements specifications. You will analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities; guide users in formulating requirements; advise alternative approaches and conduct feasibility studies. You will provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design and technology; assist in developing technical documentation; interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts; and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

You will be performing high-level data requirements analysis to support application of data standards across the enterprise. Duties require a broad range of knowledge including information technology, requirements, technical architecture analysis (e.g., understanding data flow diagrams, system architecture diagrams, etc.), and an understanding of functional and system analysis. You will be coordinating across teams that leverage multiple development methodologies, Agile (Scrum & Kanban), etc.

You will need to demonstrate the aptitude to learn and grow in the following areas.

  • Learning and understanding data models and data architecture documents.
  • Maintaining awareness of commercial data standards and community data standardization activities.

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 20 years of general systems engineering experience; a Master’s degree or PhD in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 years of general systems engineering experience; or a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 24 years of general systems engineering experience.
  • Possess an instinctive aptitude to leverage information and knowledge sharing networks and navigate conflict in a way that fosters constructive outcomes.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and have the flexibility to support various stakeholders.
  • Must be able to efficiently investigate complex issues, project limitations, and capabilities to provide solutions in a dynamic, complex, production environment.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interface with customers, system administrators, database team members, software developers, and senior-level management.
  • Ability to deconstruct top-level requirements to functional requirements for systems solutions that account for technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Ability to support management in the planning, de-confliction, and deployment of SIGINT systems for operations in coordination with supported government customer and other government department and agency partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical planning, systems integration, data verification and validation, data flow, cost and risk analysis, and supportability/effectiveness analysis for newly integrated systems.
  • Knowledgeable of SIGINT sensor systems, SIGINT collection and processing methods.
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
