Purpose:

 

The Senior Manager, Data Lead implements data governance and data management in Global Banking & Markets in accordance with the data policy and standards, and in alignment with business priorities. In particular, the Senior Manager will be responsible for:    

  • Collaborating with business and technology partners to implement data governance and data management for the GBM GWO domain
  • Supporting and ensuring Domain’s efforts to adhere to Data Management Policies
  • Acting as a Data Subject Matter Expert for the domain, directly contributing to the development of data products
  • Providing advisory and consulting services to initiatives and data projects that require GBM data in GWO and other domains
     

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank’s relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Champions Data Office products and services, to increase adoption, bring value to the business, and gather feedback to improve the products and services
  • Leads the establishment of data governance structures and works closely with Data Stewards, Data Custodians and other key roles to champion the adoption of a data culture
  • Performs Review and Challenge Function for data initiatives and data domains implementation of data management activities to ensure compliance with Policy and Standards
  • Keeps abreast with changes in data products, business processes, and technology processes related to the domain.  Contribute to keeping the definitions and metadata up to date
  • Contributes to the creation of KPI/KRIs in the assigned business area, in relation to data governance and management effectiveness
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
     


What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Extensive experience with capital markets back-office processes
  • Experience in credit adjudication and trade finance is an asset
  • Post-secondary education:  University degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of work experience, preferably in a bank / financial institution
  • This role requires a Mastery/Subject Matter Expertise of data governance leading practices including Data Management policy and standards
  • Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex problems through a collaborative style
  • Ability to increase operating efficiency and produce high quality technical solutions
  • A high level of interpersonal and presentation skills at all levels including the Executive Management Level
