We are seeking a Manager, Battery Recovery Solutions to join our team at the Nissan North Americas Headquarters in Franklin, TN.

Job Summary

The Manager, Battery Recovery Program Solutions is responsible for creating and supporting the battery recapture strategy & business solutions in the North American region. This includes tracking, locating, and recovery of used battery units for repurpose and recycling.   The candidate will work closely and coordinate with EV Lifecycle Management Team/ and external 3rd parties to ensure recovery of high-value battery assets.

Job Functions

1. Develop and manage 2nd life battery and end-of-life (EoL) recovery solutions and programs.  Create and maintain all performance metrics and KPIs for the business area.
2. Define and manage the regional recovery strategy and partnerships including salvage companies, insurers, and recyclers. Manage 3rd party partnerships including contracting and performance.  
3. Support the development of vehicle-battery track-trace data platform and business analytics requirements, KPIs, and reporting.  Create and maintain reports on BEV-Battery accessible market to target recovery collection activities. 4. Define and provide input into business operating practices, polices, and IT-IS requirements associated with the collection of battery material in the US market.  This includes core management and pricing.
5. Ensure positive value-added into Nissan’s BEV-Battery circular ecosystem aligned with Nissan’s Carbon Reduction plan. Incorporate government and regulatory requirements pertaining to used battery material recovery into regional strategic plans and battery production requirements.
6. Support the owner vehicle end-of-life recovery solutions to provide a high-quality customer experience (CX) for older BEV vehicles.  Coordinate with Nissan & Infiniti Dealers and local partners on vehicle & battery recovery and salvage.  Develop dealer processes and practices for EoL battery handling.
7. Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define and execute the battery asset recovery strategy and programs.
8. Work directly with 4R & Battery Business teams; Operations, Business Development, Sourcing, and Engineering to coordinate battery material supply requirements, either into 4R & Battery Business or Battery Production plants.  Assess 4R & Battery Business material volume requirements against recovery needs while managing costs and recoverable value.
9. Coordinate with Recycling team members to align with Nissan’s closed-loop circular recycling strategy for the region, operational plans, and associated point-to-point recovery logistics requirements.  
10. Report to Executive Leaders on strategies, programs, and regulatory policies that impact Nissan’s battery recovery management.  Ensure alignment on State & Federal regulatory (IRA) policies and incentives to support battery and material recovery decisions.  Recommend changes in direction as required.
 

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

1. Job Knowledge and Skill:
Experience working in the precious material (core) recovery, Energy Solutions Industry, and Energy as a Service Market space (battery management).  Experience & knowledge of reverse logistics operations and Federal and local transportation Hazmat requirements.  Detail-oriented with strong Project Management skills.  Beneficial to have worked in battery OE production or technologies, and the associated supply chain management into diverse customer segments with broad stakeholder requirements in material recovery.

2. Communication Skills:

Very strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong ability to discuss business processes aligned with recovery programs and deliver presentations to the extended partners and executive level. Must be able to interact with cross-functional teams, define and collaborate project activities & deliverables, and build consensus for global business units.
