Field Service Manager

Our client is seeking a Field Manager who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in leading by example. In this role, you’ll oversee field personnel, ensuring Operators and Laborers meet performance standards, follow safety protocols, and represent the company with professionalism. You’ll be the bridge between the field and leadership—conducting site visits, enforcing procedures, and supporting both people and processes to drive success.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance
• Coordinate all fleet-related issues with the Operations Manager.
• Support repair efforts by providing technical guidance and ensuring timely, cost effective solutions.
• Ensure field employees report equipment needs directly.
Budget Oversight
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to review and manage labor-related budget items on a monthly basis.
Jobsite Management
• Oversee and assist with team training to ensure adherence to safety protocols and proper equipment handling.
• Conduct quarterly ride-alongs with at least four (4) Operators to evaluate driving and operating procedures.
• Provide on-site support for new customer onboarding and large-scale projects.
• Assist in setting up new dump sites and bulk water accounts.
• Engage with customers on-site to ensure job quality and satisfaction.
• Perform a minimum of five jobsite audits per week.
Safety Compliance
• Partner with the Safety Compliance Manager to address safety and field operation concerns.
• Enforce safety standards and conduct jobsite safety audits.
• Review monthly safety topics with crews on-site.
• Collect employee signatures and submit to Operations Support by month-end.
Operational Support
• Build and dispatch daily job schedules by 6:00 PM deadline.
• Assist in job intake and scheduling.
• Rotate emergency call coverage every other weekend with other team members.
New Hire Onboarding & Training
• Conduct road tests and manage new hires during their initial weeks.
• Coordinate training ride-alongs with experienced Operators.
• Follow up daily with both the trainee and trainer.
• Ride along with new Operators during their first solo week.
• Complete a competency checklist before allowing independent operation.
• Provide ongoing training and quarterly reviews during the first year, covering:
Jobsite performance
Safety violations
Vehicle incidents
Truck inspections (PPE, cleanliness, tools)
Weekly Managers Meeting
• Provide updates on:
Ongoing issues
Quarterly initiatives
Jobsite audit findings
Requirements- 3+ years of experience in the construction, field service, or technical type role.
- 2+ years of supervisory and/or leadership experience
- Familiarity and ability to use a variety of systems and software
- Understanding of safety regulations and/or compliance
- Excellent communication skills
- Availability for on-call work or emergency service coordination
- Valid Driver's License and ability to pass a background check
