This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility 2-3 days a week.
Summary: The Director of Client Engagements oversees the planning, execution, and governance of multiple client-focused projects and initiatives. This role combines client relationship management with the strategic oversight of programs, ensuring that all projects align with organizational goals, deliver business value, and meet technical requirements. The director coordinates across various teams to deliver high-quality outcomes, manages project interdependencies, and ensures the efficient allocation of resources. They act as a senior escalation point for complex client issues, drive continuous improvement in program delivery, and play a key role in shaping the overall client engagement strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing multiple client engagement projects and programs, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Developing and maintaining program roadmaps, timelines, and resource plans, and managing interdependencies across projects.
- Leading the client engagement team in delivering high-impact projects, balancing scope, budget, and technical requirements.
- Establishing program governance structures, including regular status updates, risk management processes, and change control procedures.
- Serving as a senior escalation point for resolving program-level challenges and client concerns.
- Collaborating with engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure technical deliverables meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program delivery, project management methodologies, and client satisfaction.
- Monitoring program performance metrics and implementing corrective actions to address risks and issues.
- Preparing reports for senior leadership, detailing program status, project health, budget forecasts, and key milestones.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Strong program management experience, with expertise in managing large portfolios of technical projects.
- Excellent understanding of project and program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, PMBOK).
- Technical background or familiarity with software development, engineering, or IT infrastructure.
- Experience in program governance, risk management, and process improvement.
- Proficiency in program and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet).
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence at all levels.
Education and/or Experience:
- BA/BS in Business, Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in client program and project management, or a related role in the insurance or benefits industry.
- Certifications such as Program Management Professional (PgMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Agile certifications are highly desirable.
