The Real Estate and Workplace Services Accounting Operations and Compliance team supports the Real Estate organization in creating, delivering, and servicing the company’s inspirational work environments around the globe.
To accomplish this mission, we are seeking a highly motivated and diligent individual to join our Real Estate Accounting Operations and Compliance team as a Senior Project Accountant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in reconciling financial data, managing purchase orders, securing invoice approvals, and assisting in the overall budget management for various projects/programs within the organization. This position involves close collaboration with program and project owners within a business group, as well as business partners in Finance, Corporate Accounting, Procurement, and Lease Administration. The Senior Project Accountant must know procure-to-pay policies, processes, and procedures and will be involved in continued efforts to improve and enhance existing policies and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for leading all aspects of the accounting details related to office build-outs by functioning as the primary financial contact to the project management team
- Create and manage purchase orders for capital and operational projects, as well as workplace services programs
- Reconcile project spend and ensure timely follow-up on any outstanding items
- Participate in bi-weekly discussions regarding the financial health of assigned projects
- Assist with onboarding of new 3rd party project managers
- Partner with project and program managers to secure invoice approvals
- Work with Finance and Accounting business partners to provide construction-related information as it relates to the month-end accounting close & cash flow projections
- On-board new suppliers in the company’s vendor management system
- Assist in the development/enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) around project reporting and reconciliations
- Facilitate training sessions with business partners around the company’s procurement policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all internal audit requirements and company policies
- Validate quarterly fixed assets data as it relates to capitalized office build-outs
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
- Individuals must have the capability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines; and work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior analytical skills in both mathematical and problem-solving
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and across the organization/company (including Finance, Accounting, Legal, Sourcing, and 3rd Party Service Providers).
- Ability to operate effectively in an exciting environment with shifting priorities
- Individuals should be a strong self-starter and thorough
- The individual should have an intermediate understanding of MS Office and Google Suite
- Experience with large ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Workday) is desirable
