Job Description
The Senior Hospital Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the hospital and clinic, including but not limited to billing, coding, medical records keeping, accounting, scheduling, human resources and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures daily hospital operations in coordination with respective department heads (e.g., laboratory, pharmacy, imaging).
- Coordinates with the Health Manager - Ancillary Services to help manage general operations, human resources, recruiting, and finances.
- Plans and prioritizes day to day activities and tasks.
- Works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer and Nurse Manager to provide the highest level of medical care with the resources given.
- Leads or participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
- Works closely with recruiting and HR to ensure adequate staffing and a positive working environment and culture.
- Ensures effective on-island medical billing, collections, and insurer network agreements.
- Ensures billing activities and medical records are kept in accordance with the contract.
- Drives and develops the quality agenda for Hospital.
- Provides oversight of the medical evacuation and referral team.
- Represents International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. to the Prime and government personnel.
- Respond to contract, facility, and other emergencies.
- Manages daily operations of veterinary services, environmental services and dental services.
- Manages daily operations of transportation services, security and facility management.
- Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communication issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts and new policy requirements.
- Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in healthcare administration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Health Services, Health Care Administration, Hospital Administration or related field.
- Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Health Care, Hospital Administration or advanced professional degree highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
