Accounts Receivable Specialist

Our senior living organization is looking for a part-time accounting clerk to help support our team with resident billing. We are flexible with your schedule as we are looking for part-time.

This position pays $14-15 per hour

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is role that blends both analytical and interpersonal skills into one position. Our mission is 'Transforming families through each genuine moment of connection' and this is critical in every position including our AR Specialist. You will be interacting with resident family members and internal stakeholders every day and creating those connections that help to provide a great experience.

What you will be doing (essential functions):

• Manage new residents by adding them into our accounting system and updating systems as needed
• Create, process and distribute resident invoices
• Audit resident accounts
• Work closely with families to ensure correct billing and manage any collections situations
• Bill private insurance and government payors
• Maintain shared documents and various spreadsheets regarding census, collections, and resident account reconciliations:
• Answer incoming phone calls
• Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans to increase efficiency, growth and profitability
• Cross-train to perform related accounting functions to help out in times of need
• Maintain and develop various accounting tools, including Excel spreadsheets.

 Job Specifications:

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, good work ethic, and be detail oriented
• At least 18 years of age
• Experience with health insurance billing is preferred
• Ability to use computer programs such as email, MS Word, MS Excel
• Ability to communicate effective verbally and in writing
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of employee and customer issues and records
