Job Summary:

The Senior Clinical Credentialing Coordinator has full responsibility for maintaining current and complete records of all clinical sites, and preceptor and student clinical compliance for the clinical practicum.

No supervisor responsibility  


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable in and adhere to policies and procedures in accordance with institutional and federal regulations.      

  • Assist students, preceptors, and clinical sites with credentialing requirements.

  • Notify the Director of Clinical Credentialing of concerns, changes, and updates regarding compliance issues. 

  • Ensure customer-focused, high-quality service to students and other University employees.

  • Respond to student and faculty correspondence as soon as time permits and at least within the FNU Communication policy established timeframe. 

  • Collect necessary information from students regarding their clinical plan and oversee the completion of all requirements before the student’s clinical practicum.

  • Obtain, evaluate, and manage all preceptor requirements, including, but not limited to, work history, agreement, license/certification, and transcript. 

  • Obtain, evaluate, and manage all clinical site requirements, including affiliation agreements and insurance verifications.

  • Maintain regular communication and update faculty regarding student clinical credentialing needs, progress, and issues.

  • Ensure student credentialing is complete according to affiliation agreement standards. 

  • Works with the Assistant Director of Clinical Credentialing to create, implement, and monitor clinical compliance processes.  

  • Educate, train, support, and mentor the Clinical Credentialing Coordinators as needed.    

  • Submit reports as scheduled and requested by the Director of Clinical Credentialing.

  • Provide service to the University through activities such as involvement in FNU shared governance (e.g. committees, workgroups), FNU sponsored activities (e.g. charity drives, community-outreach activities), and/or service to the profession (e.g. presentations, professional organization committee work).

  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills/Abilities

  • 3+ years experience as an FNU Clinical Credentialing Coordinator. 

  • Excellent computer and communication skills, preferably experience with Google Apps

  • Familiar with Internet searches and ability to use E-mail for communication 

  • Knowledge of database software

  • Ability to organize details on an ongoing basis

  • Ability to work as a member of an efficient and productive team


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Will consider an AA degree with significant experience in the field.


Physical Requirements:

Sit for long periods of time.


Reporting Relationship:

This position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Credentialing.
