Senior Accountant, Accounts Payables Services

<p> </p> <p>Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial and HR business services to all business areas within the company.</p> <p> </p> <p>Role purpose:</p> <p>Senior Accountant provides financial information to operational business areas and increases financial understanding of operational managers. Supports performance of Accountants and Junior Accountants, supervising timelines, accuracy, and completeness of the recorded transactions. Participating in GBS projects, delivering continuous improvement ideas in their own field, ensures to work in compliance with Hydro Quality system, HSE regulations, policies and standardized operating procedures.</p> <p> </p> <p>Main responsibilities: </p> <ul> <li>Perform advanced daily accounting checks &amp; controls to safeguard quality accounting &amp; compliance</li> <li>Support &amp; mentor accountants when they face complex cases </li> <li>Coordinate monthly Aged report priorities and their resolution, support TL with weekly revisions &amp; adjustments if needed</li> <li>Drive GRIR clearing, work together with accountants &amp; locations on resolution, align with TL on priorities &amp; progress</li> <li>Drive BAU issue resolution by opening the related IT ticket, track and push for resolution</li> <li>Identify, analyze, and implement process improvement initiatives, propose &amp; collect ideas</li> <li>Take part in trainings, act as a mentor, theme based or process change related trainings</li> <li>Focus on keeping good partner relations &amp; collaborations</li> <li>Assist with external and internal audits and reviews</li> <li>Support month-end closing activities</li> <li>Provide on demand reports</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in accounting or finance field</li> <li>College / University degree or similar in finance field</li> <li>Fluent in English is desired, any other language is a plus </li> <li>Focus on detail, accuracy and consistency</li> <li>Proficiency with SAP / S4 HANA accounting software</li> <li>Strong analytical skills</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Awareness and appreciation of business priorities, professional and commercial outlook</li> <li>Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial information</li> <li>Customer service orientation</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Hydro offers:</p> <ul> <li>Working at the world’s only fully integrated aluminum and leading renewable energy company</li> <li>Diverse, global teams</li> <li>Flexible work environment/home office</li> <li>We provide you the freedom to be creative and to learn from experts</li> <li>Possibility to grow with the company, gain new certificates</li> <li>Attractive benefit package</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Hydro is heading in a new and exciting direction, and we depend on different perspectives to solve our tasks and meet customer needs.
