Job Description

Leads team which provides controllership services covering the Medicaid business unit.  This includes routine and ad-hoc accounting activities, application of accounting principles to unusual transactions, consolidation activities for CVS financial statements, and financial analysis for the use of the Medicaid finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

·  Provide accounting guidance and direction to the Medicaid controllership team

·  Ensure that monthly accounting activities are designed to produce accurate and complete financial results for accounts managed by the group

·  Provide support for quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and associated actuarial opinions

·  Design, maintain, and execute the department’s internal control program

·  Ensure the balance sheet is accurate and that all accounts are reconciled on a timely basis

·  Lead the support for eternal audits of both GAAP and STAT financial statements which include Medicaid activity

·  Administer the financial communication plan to facilitate the dissemination of information to Medicaid finance leadership.

·  Communicate financial information with clarity and simplicity and avoids complex terminology to prevent misunderstandings, for non-financial audiences.

·  Lead the controllership team, supporting continuous improvement, talent development, and process excellence

 

Required Qualifications

·   15+ years work experience

·   Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills

·   Adept at application of technical accounting guidance

·   Adept at collaboration and teamwork

·   Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills

·   Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

·   Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

·   Master’s degree

 

Education

·   Bachelor’s degree in relevant professional area required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$131,500.00 - $303,195.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
