Senior Product Designer, Bedding - Pottery Barn

About the Role 

You will be part of the Pottery Barn Textiles Design team responsible for designing, developing and delivering new bedding collections. This role oversees the Bedding design. Our team’s focus is to deliver new innovative bedding constructions and designs in addition to supporting our core collections seasonally.

 As a Senior Designer, you will manage new product lines and product development processes for each season for specific departments that reflect mood, market trends and business needs. You will set up and manage product development meetings and be the main communicator for agents, merchants, sourcing, and color teams. You will work with the Director to assure all deadlines and key calendar dates are met. You have the ability to manage and develop associates.   

This is a hybrid role 4x a week at our offices in SF

Note: Prior Bedding experience strongly desired!

Responsibilities  

• Manages the weekly Product Development meetings and Work Sessions.   
• Work closely with cross functional team members, technical designers, designers, merchandisers, sourcing, and coordinators.  
• Main communicator between agents.
• Gathers market data on key fashion trends and analyze what competition is doing to bring new business opportunities or trends to the team.   
• Has clear understanding of department business needs and guides PD team to design accordingly.   
• Drives calendar to ensure all deadlines and key dates are met.   
• Clarify objectives, assess performance and provide regular feedback to those assisting you.   
• Determine workload; recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results.   

Criteria  

• Minimum 7 years product design experience, specifically in textiles.    
• Degree in Design or equivalent experience.   
• Must have an aspirational taste-level with an eye for interiors and designer aesthetic.   
• Experience designing knit and woven textiles. 
• Knowledge of constructions and technical design is a plus.    
• Experience designing product, keeping materials and pricing in mind.   
• Must be technically versed in bedding textile product categories, creating detailed specs, product reviews and feedback to vendors.   
• Design Skills, creative and inspirational thinker, deadline driven.  
• Full proficiency in Mac operating systems with skill excellence in Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, and PLM knowledge.  
• Experience in identifying and presenting trends and inspiration based on the given concept direction.
