Job Summary

Join the Wilton team as an Accounting Manager reporting to the VP Finance! This is a critical role that is accountable for monthly closing processes including preparing monthly journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.  Responsible for full cycle accounting duties, timely completion of financial statements and communication of results to key stakeholders. Assist as needed with other analysis as well as special accounting projects. Cross-functional interaction with other departments such as Sales, Marketing, Finance and the Operating Divisions. 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop the accounting team providing vision, support and leadership to the staff 
• Perform and review month end accounting activities, including account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
• Oversees, monitors and works to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and company processes
• Maintain standard costs and inventory analysis 
• Approve and track fixed assets working closely with business partners to ensure accuracy and compliance with our policies
• Lead the annual closing process, annual audit, various projects as needed
• Provide accounting support to various stakeholders and functions across the company
• Be a resource to Supply Chain, Inventory/Forecasting, Divisional and Corporate Finance and others for all areas of cost and inventory
• Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting process
• Support and backup others on the Accounting and Finance teams
   

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 8 or more years of progressive accounting experience and 4 or more years of people management experience
• SAP experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital
• Advanced Excel and Access skills
• Decision making abilities commensurate with job responsibilities
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet various deadlines
