About the role

Foley Hoag seeks an enterprising Business Immigration Paralegal with 5+ years of experience in business immigration within a law firm or in-house environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in preparing PERM labor certification applications and bring relevant experience drafting and filing nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions, applications to adjust status, and RFE’s. The ideal candidate must have exceptionally strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

This role is hybrid eligible, allowing for critically important learning and collaboration with colleagues. Currently, this role requires onsite presence three days per week. 

Responsibilities 

  • Drafting forms and letters for visa applications and petitions, labor certification applications, and other immigrant and non-immigrant related filings;
  • Gather and organize evidence to support immigration filings;
  • Conduct quality assurance review of immigration filings;
  • Maintains computer database, monitors reports, set reminders;
  • Assemble application and petition packages and file with USCIS;
  • Set up approval packets and Public Access Files;
  • Maintain case management reports as requested. 

 

Qualifications 

  • At least 5 years’ of experience in business immigration;
  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates ability to perform duties of the position may substitute for formal education requirement;
  • At least one year of experience with case management system  (LawLogix preferred);
  • Knowledge of business non-immigrant visas (H-1B, L-1, E-3, TN, B-1, O-1) and employment based immigrant visa processes (EB-1 extraordinary ability, outstanding professor/researcher, multinational manager; EB-2 NIW; EB-2 and EB-3 PERM, and I-485 filings);
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft business applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook) and PDF editing;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent requests with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and work with an extremely high degree of accuracy;
  • Effectively able to prioritize cases, caseload and other assigned tasks (e., projects, reports, case management responsibilities, etc.);
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills;
  • Flexibility to work overtime if necessary;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with lawyers, clients and office personnel;
  • Ability to execute and work well with minimal supervision.

Compensation range is $80,000 to $115,000 commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
