Senior Accountant, Core Accounting at a Glance….
This Senior Accountant role reports to the Manager of Core Accounting and is responsible for overseeing the accounting of royalties for the North American (NA) zone. The Sr. Accountant will manage both inbound and outbound license agreements, as well as third-party and intercompany. Additional responsibilities include managing the late entry process for the month-end close and accounting for and preparing financials for the Kraft Heinz Foundation. The role requires a strong business partnership with Marketing, Legal, ESG, and other Finance and Accounting teams. Looking for someone to challenge current processes and to drive change by developing processes that support business growth, strategy shifts, and continuous improvement.

What’s on the menu?

  • Calculate royalty payments and prepare statements in conformance with the contractual terms of the agreements and in partnership with Marketing
  • Perform accounting and reporting tasks to support the month-end close which includes entering transactions, preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accruals within Blackline, and assisting with analytical reviews of consolidated results
  • Support licensor royalty audits through documentation requests and the coordination of support with applicable teams
  • Provide feedback to Marketing and Legal on newly developed licensing agreements to ensure compliance
  • Account for and prepare financials to support the Kraft Heinz Foundation, including reporting to the board and management and for the tax return
  • Help to coordinate late entries across North America and Latin America in the close process to ensure timely reporting to Global Consolidations
  • Drive process improvements through automation and developing procedures for addressing issues while maintaining processes and procedures to ensure accounting, reporting and controls are in compliance with US GAAP and Kraft Heinz policies
  • Other ad hoc duties as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA a plus
  • 3+ years’ experience in corporate and/or public accounting
  • Proficient in SAP and Excel
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, and prioritize multiple projects, while operating in a fast-paced, complex, global organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and conflict management skills

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$88,000.00 - $110,000.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
